JLG Telehandlers Oregon
After spending many years working together with his brother to be able to build their crane construction corporation into a leader of the business, John L. Grove decided to stop working. John and his wife Cora celebrated their retirement by setting out on a cross-country trip utilizing their recreational vehicle. After that particular journey, JLG Industries, Inc. emerged and became the global leading producer of specialized material handling equipment and mobile aerial work platforms.
Throughout the R.V. trip, John spent much of the time talking to prior business associates who the Groves stopped to visit along their journey. Sadly, while they visited the Hoover Dam, 2 employees were accidentally electrocuted on scaffolding. Through subsequent conversations, John discovered a big untapped market for a machinery which could safely and quickly hoist people into the air in order to perform construction and maintenance functions.
John decided to take action after John and his wife returned from the trip. He formed a partnership with two close friends when they purchased a small metal manufacturing company within McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. During the year 1970, with an original crew of 20 workers, the trio built and sold the very first JLG aerial work platform. Numerous components of the basic design elements of that original machinery are still being integrated into the current equipment
The company has come a very long way ever since John L. Grove drove back into town from his cross-country trip and have grown significantly ever since they debuted their very first aerial work platform.
