The forklift operator should ideally be able to stand for an 8 hour shift. In nearly all work settings, they would be entitled to two short coffee breaks and a half-hour lunch break during the day. It is vital that the driver of the forklift not be prone to reckless driving or rage of any type.
Training
usually, forklift training is done on the job. This training includes control training and safety training, that is completed through tests, and a series of videos. A performance test will also be conducted on the lift truck. After the tests have been successfully done, a license could be issued. This license has to be renewed based on shop procedures and according to provincial and state laws. If you get the chance to finish your lift truck training on the job, it is a great idea and it is a different skill you could add to your resume.
