Operator Environment
Operators have an efficient and safe place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The main goal is to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and big glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is really comfortable and gently rounded. This specific area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential information, in order to keep the operator functioning as effectively as he or she could.
Thanks to the insulated mounting to the chassis, vibration levels and overall noise levels are kept low. The controller's seat and the hydraulic controls are all individually adjustable that allows you to maintain an optimum working position. Furthermore, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 easy to operate, multi-functioned ergonomically positioned levers which are provided for windscreen wipers, gear changing, the horn and window washers.
To ensure a comfy cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit provides incoming air which is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machine has a robust 3-speed fan for cooling, heating, recirculation and defrosting. As an additional option, air conditioning could be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units which are all accessible. Basic instrumentation consists of: low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, applied parking brake and high gearbox oil temperature. In addition, gauges display values for fuel quantity, operating time, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.
The ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring is among the key options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These units make it easier to supervise the machinery. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any errors which happen and their current values.
