TCM Lifts Oregon

There are two basic types of lift trucks, models which run on gas and units which run on electricity:

Internal Combustion Forklifts: The IC forklift will run on fuels like liquid propane, gas, compressed natural gas or CNG or diesel. Gas powered models are best suited for outdoor applications because they emit pollutants and gases which are harmful to employees and pedestrians. Gas models are also great for application in the rain and in bad weather. These models could lift weights around 15,000 to 35,000 pounds. Because of the maintenance and fuel expenses, the gas powered models are more costly to utilize compared to the electric units, however, they cost less up front compared to electric powered units. Models which run on liquid propane are the best choice to be utilized inside.

Electric Forklifts: Electric forklifts take batteries which require frequent charging. Because these units do not burn any fuel, there are no emissions polluting the air with these machinery. They are the best alternative for indoor applications and warehouses. Furthermore, electric forklifts are a lot quieter to run compared to other models and they do not require any fuel storage units. Amongst the disadvantages of the electric models is that they are unable to carry cargo over 15,000 pounds and thus, have a slower acceleration than gasoline powered units.

The forklift is particularly designed to transport things and materials quickly and easily. Mishaps do occur on a regular basis like is the case with most kinds of machinery. There are specific safety rules that should be followed so as to keep everyone safe. The most vital problem is recruiting a trained operator, who could show you a valid forklift license.

On the market these days, there are many different styles of lift trucks available. Choosing which one is right for your particular needs would be based on the kind of environment your machine will have to operate in, for example, indoors or outdoors or both and what kinds of loads which you have to transport. Once you understand your specific needs, it will be easy to match up to the best type of lift truck. When you know your requirements exactly you will be able to make a correct decision.

Another great way to get first hand experience on the various forklift units is the try leasing your lift truck. This would also enable you to see all the possible choices available to you. This is a less expensive way to know if the type of equipment you have selected could keep up with you on the job location.
