There are actually a range of different ways that lower or raise lifts on a lift truck: rack and pinion lifts, scissor lifts, telescoping lifts, screw lifts and articulated lifts. Scissor lifts employ crisscrossed folding supports with a screw mechanism utilized to draw the members together. Rack and pinion lifts utilize a pinion, that is a small drive gear, to drive a straight-toothed rack to lift the cargo. The telescoping lift system is designed with many sections that extend and retract into and out of each other to achieve lifting action. Screw lifts use threads to raise the lift. Articulated lifts utilize a mechanism that involves multiple parts which unfold or articulate. An articulated lift example is the "cherry picker."
Forklift Material Handling
There are a lot of reasons to keep up with innovations in material handling methods. Material handling machinery and the processes could be used to deal with increased geographical coverage, additional SKUs, and the requirement to lower inventories. Machinery which are well ahead of the technological curve can help productivity maximization and increase profitability.
Lift truck Battery & Charging Technology
The latest innovations on electric lift trucks have yielded higher capacities and longer run-times than ever before, that makes the decision to convert from the conventional IC forklift over to the improved electric models. Charger and battery combinations are offering a lot more power for longer periods than older systems were capable of achieving. Enhancements in charger and battery technologies are not only making electric forklifts more productive but they are making it possible to have more environmentally friendly warehouse operations.
These new batteries are known as Li-ion batteries or Lithium-Ion batteries. This technology is still quite new, but Li-ion batteries show incredible promise. They are not just smaller but could hold up to six times the charge of standard lead acid batteries. Li-ion batteries have really low maintenance needs and are able to maximize opportunity charging through zero memory technology.
