Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they move cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and transport tall or unstable loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap way of moving cargo from one place to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is specifically made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles which can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely useful pieces of equipment during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
