Forklift Tires
When it comes to types of installation, there are two types regarding forklift tires: press on and standard. Normally, press on tires are utilized on electric forklifts and those models operating in indoor applications such as warehouses. The press on tires may be used also in light industrial operation as well.

Surfaces that are rough or uneven require more traction and tougher tires. Thus, standard tires are usually utilized. Then again, they are generally used on forklifts that operate in outdoor settings.

As there are a lot of various types of forklifts, there are also many different types of forklift tires. The kinds of tires that are most commonly used are pneumatic, solid and polyurethane. The type of tires are dictated by what and where the forklift is used for. It is very crucial to acquire the right tires for the task and ensuring the proper choice will have a huge effect on both safety and performance.

It is suitable to utilize pneumatic tires on outdoor forklifts that function in an all-terrain environment like on construction sites. These are made of durable rubber and then filled with air, similar to a truck or tractor tire. Pneumatic tires create an air cushion between the forklift and the terrain. This design significantly lessens the wear and tear on the machine and creates a really comfortable ride for the operator. The deep, thick treads on the tires give the necessary traction needed for use on uneven and rough surfaces.

Solid tires are best suited for both light industrial indoor and outdoor applications. They are fabricated out of constructed solid, tough rubber. This helps them to stay safer from blowouts, popping like pneumatic tires or damage due to puncture wounds. Because these tires are not filled with air, they are unable to provide the cushion effect. This fact makes them not suitable for use on rough terrain. Several solid tires are constructed with holes in the sidewalls to provide a fairly softer ride. The only issue is that this kind of construction makes the load carrying capacity of the forklift less.

The polyurethane forklift tires will normally outlast both of the rubber tire designs but are designed for indoor warehouse use only. The load capacity of polyurethane is a lot higher compared to a rubber tire. These tires work great with well with electric forklifts because of the extra weight of the equipment's batteries. Due to the less rolling resistance of the tires, one more benefit of this type of tire is the longer battery life.
