Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources that can power forklifts. They can run utilizing gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various applications. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the machine should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should truly be careful so as to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by utilizing the hand.
