Potain Cranes

The company Potain was established in La Clayette, France in the year 1928. Since that time, the company has grown into a leading manufacturer of cranes. The company is responsible for over 100,000 cranes in operation all over the world. At present, the company manufacturers more than 60 models from various manufacturing plants inside France, China, Germany, Italy and Portugal. The company represents many different product ranges used for various applications. These equipments are sold through a global Manitowoc dealer network.

The Potain family makes 3 different tower crane families. The self-erecting cranes are the smallest ones in the Potain range. These cranes range from 1 ton to 7.98 ton capacity. The next size up is the top-slewing cranes which are both bigger and higher. These cranes range from 7.98 to 64 tons. Moreover, these are the biggest custom-designed special application cranes. These units provide a reach capacity of 160 tons.

The company's top innovations comprise LLC series of hoists, the Dialog control system and the Vision Cab. The company's growing reputation has expanded their appeal with different models. Potain cranes are normally found on conventional construction sites, bridge building projects, power stations, shipbuilding yards and ship-building projects.

Two of Manitowac's biggest facilities are based in the United States. Their manufacturing facility is based in Wisconsin. In this state, both crawler cranes and the tower crane parts are constructed in Pennsylvania in the Shady Grove facility. Here mobile cranes and boom trucks are manufactured. Regional offices are situated in Brazil and within Mexico. Additionally, the extensive dealer network located all over the USA and Oregon offers support and coverage unrivalled by any other crane manufacturer.

Manitowoc has dominated the lifting market in North America for more than 50 years. They have built their solid reputation with a combination of outstanding support and service and quality products. The well-known names of Grove, National Crane and Manitowoc have been top members of their market sectors in the United States, Oregon and Latin and South America.
