Terex Electric Scissor Lifts

Terex Electric Scissor Lifts

How to Charge a Scissor Lift
There is a great convenience when using a scissor lift, because the convenience of working and the lift basket's security gives peace of mind when trying to perform tasks that would have otherwise needed using the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machine make it the right option for performing tasks from heights.

Most scissor lifts are powered electrically by batteries which have been mounted directly onto the equipment. These batteries would need to be charged after a long shift or after sitting for extended periods without use. It is a simple task to charge the batteries. This can be carried out without any particular equipment or tools and requires no heavy labor.

The equipment needs to be positioned near an electrical output in order to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging area should also be in a well-ventilated area. Then, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button situated in the basket of the lift, near the control box or the charger. Find the battery charger on the base of the lift on the right side. Normally, older units will have the charger mounted on the back of the lift.

The AC extension cord must next be plugged into the charger. Be certain to charge in a well ventilated area and plug the cord into an electrical outlet. In order to avoid accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is purposely short. This is because if any extra length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger could likely occur.
